This new design tests all grades and gauges of electrical steel sheet per ASTM A-343, wattmeter-ammeter-voltmeter and 25cm Epstein frame method. It is recommended for motor and transformer producers and all users of electrical steel.

This is a fast, accurate, fully automatic tester that determines the AC magnetic properties of flat rolled electrical steel at 60 and 50 Hertz power frequencies, complying exactly with the ASTM A-343 test method standard. It measures core loss, exciting power, magnetic field strength and permeability at inductions (B) 10 to 18 Kilogauss (kG). The MTE-2 is a complete stand-alone tester with all hardware and software ready for immediate measurements. Its high accuracy is accomplished by use of negative voltage feedback which maintains undistorted sinusoidal waveform flux within the test sample. Furthermore, it uses computer digital feedback to set induction levels precisely.
